According to the sources of the meeting, the president of the committee, Shamsul Haque Tuku, said in the meeting, "TikTok is being discussed and criticized."  This app is being used negatively.  "Various acts of violence, rumors and misinformation are being spread." Later, he recommended the app to be closed.

On the other hand, National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) Director General Major General Ziaul Ahsan said that 80 percent of the internet used by young people in Bangladesh is spent on the TikTok app.  This platform is used to spread vindictive, misinformation and hate speech.  It has more negative uses than positive ones.

He said that a letter has already been sent to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to stop the TikTok app with all kinds of information.
