Chhatra League president requests to start student politics again in BUET

After the murder of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) student Abrar Fahad, the university authorities banned student politics on campus. But Chhatra League president Al Nahian Khan Joy has requested to start student politics again in BUET.

He made the request as the chief guest at a human chain to demand the return of Bangabandhu's killers organized by the DU Chhatra League at the foot of the Raju sculpture of Dhaka University on Sunday (August 14) afternoon.

Chhatra League president said, I will request Buet administration to reconsider. You will take steps to make BUET militant free by activating student politics in the campus. Bangladesh Chhatra League, the beacon of the young generation, is requesting you.

He also said that the ghosts of Pakistan who are haunting the BUET campus will be identified. Their family background will be checked. I will request the administration and intelligence agencies. You should find those who have attempted to thwart Bangabandhu's mourning program, and file treason cases against them.He also said that the ghosts of Pakistan who are haunting the BUET campus will be identified.  Calling Saturday's protestors Jamaat-Shibir, Joy said that the former leaders of the university had worked for the country. But the ghosts of Jamaat-Shibir have seen what they have done with the elder brothers of their own university! I don't think anything good will ever come from such idiots. The father of the nation created this Bangladesh. Those who do bad things to him must be punished.

Earlier on Saturday (August 13) on the occasion of the National Day of Mourning, former leaders of BUET Chhatra League organized a discussion meeting and prayers under the banner of BUET Cafeteria. Student politics banned in BUET after Abrar Fahad's murder. The general students of BUET have protested in response to this program of Chhatra League. After the murder of Abrar Fahad, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET), the university authorities banned student politics on the campus. But on the occasion of National Day of Mourning, the former leaders of BUET Chhatra League organized a discussion meeting and prayers at BUET on Saturday (August 13).

Due to the ban on student politics in BUET, general students of BUET protested in response to this program of the Chhatra League. When BCL leaders claimed that the meeting was not political, but to pray for Bangabandhu, the students raised the question, why under the banner of BCL?

The meeting started from 5 pm on Saturday and lasted until 8:30 pm. Earlier, the protestors started gathering in front of the cafeteria from 7 pm. After the meeting, when the Chhatra League leaders came out to the former Buet, the angry students shouted, "I will not let Abrar's blood go in vain", "I will let my brother's blood go in vain".No', 'address of politics, will not be on this campus' etc.

At the end of the meeting, former general secretary of BUET Chhatra League Atal Mahmud said to the angry students that this is not a political program. Prayer program for Bangabandhu on the occasion of his death anniversary. At that time, the angry students said, then why the banner of Chhatra League? You could also do it as an ex-student of BUET. Later, BLA leaders said that this program was done with permission from the student welfare director of BUET.

Later, when the BCL leaders left the campus, the students held a press conference. At that time, they said, innocent students have repeatedly lost their lives in the BUET premises due to the misdeeds of the lezurvrit student organization. On October 7, 2019, Abrar Fahad was killed in brutal torture by Chhatra League. All political organizations and their activities were banned in this university on October 11, 2019, in view of the protest movement by all students of BUET. Despite the specific policies of the university, a banner organized by former leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League, BUET can be seen in the seminar hall BUET auditorium complex today.

The students also said that earlier on July 2, Bangladesh Chhatra League laid wreaths at the memorial plaque of Arif Raihan Deep in the university's Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall and on June 8, former leaders of BUET Chhatra League pulled banners at the memorial plaque of former Nahar Soni. The goodwill of the BUET authorities is being questioned because despite the clear instructions to ban student politics, the BUET authorities have been given permission to conduct activities and organize programs by declaring their presence repeatedly in the university premises. of such activitiesIn this regard we are expecting the stand and clear reply from all general student authorities of BUET.

In this regard, Director of Student Welfare (DSW) of BUET Professor Mizanur Rahman said, it can be said that they have taken permission from us and have not taken it again. While taking permission, they said that they are ex-students, will reunite in the campus. That's why we allow it. But when they went to program under the banner of former leaders of BUET Chhatra League, the students stopped them.

He also said that if we had known that they were former leaders of BUET Chhatra League then we would not have given permission. So students have a right to be angry. I am off campus right now. Otherwise I would have gone to the spot. Tomorrow morning we will hear from the students.
You have to wait 15 seconds.
